“Midday Suite” concert series

The Reina Sofía School of Music presents the “Midday Suites” series, to be held at the Auditorio Sony on Saturdays 11 and 25 April, as well as on 16 and 23 May. This series, part of the “21st-Century Soloists” programme, combines chamber and piano concerts with guided tours of the school and meetings with the young musicians.

In the morning, attendees will be able to tour the rehearsal rooms and learn about the students’ lives, before enjoying a concert accompanied by an introduction to the programme and a discussion with the performers. On 11 April, the Arete Quartet will open the series with a chamber concert; on 25 April, bassoon works will be performed in memory of Klaus Thunemann; on 16 May, three sopranos will perform works by Falla and other composers; and on 23 May, Emin Kiukçian’s solo recital will showcase the richness of the Romantic repertoire.

All concerts are broadcast online through Radio Clásica, and in-person attendance requires free registration. In addition, spectators will be able to enter a draw for tickets to the Da Camera series concerts and enjoy the virtuosity and expressiveness of the young musician
