Madrid’s summer is once again filled with live music: the Tardes Thyssen series returns, bringing together art and music on the terraces of Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. Until 13 September, there will be free open-air concerts every weekend as part of the Música para los ojos project: ten performances inspired by ten masterpieces from the museum’s permanent collection.
From pop folk and electronic music to post-punk and funk, the programme includes Spanish and international artists. Among them are Bernarda, Adelaida, Emil Saiz, Ganges, Azulceleste, Sofía, Pedro Vian, Álvaro Corrochano and others. Each concert is not just music, but a creative dialogue with painting: each performance is a musical interpretation of one of the exhibition’s key paintings.
