Lila Horovitz trio concert

On 25 March, Café Berlín will host this very special event. Lila Horovitz, double bassist, composer and arranger, will take to the stage in a trio with Ana Maou on violin and Raúl Kiokio on seven-string guitar.

This is her most personal sound world: Argentine roots, contemporary jazz and a subtle fusion. A direct heir to the Piazzolla tradition, Lila has been part of Funamviolistas (Premio Max) and has worked with Cirque du Soleil. Here, however, she shows what is most essential: music that arises from the deep groove of the double bass, brings melody to the foreground and remains stripped-back, honest and deeply expressive.

Her compositions whisper to Piazzolla, converse with Pat Metheny’s open lyricism and move through the intersections of Latin American tradition, blues and contemporary chamber music. Double bass, violin and guitar converse with freedom and intensity, blending improvisation and precise form in a single breath.

They will be joined as special guests by Zenet and Daniela Horovitz on vocals, Nazareno Saavedra on bass drum and dance, Iván Montero on bandoneón, and Sarai Pintado on viola.
