El Escorial San Bernabé festivities

From 5 to 14 June, El Escorial will celebrate the San Bernabé festivities in honour of the Apostle Barnabas, patron saint of the town. For local residents, it is not only a religious tradition but also one of the year’s most anticipated events, when the town’s usual rhythm changes for several days.

The programme includes outdoor concerts, family activities, food gatherings, children’s workshops, shows, sporting competitions and historical ceremonies. The solemn Mass and the procession on the patron saint’s day hold a special place and have remained the central axis of the festivities for many generations.

This year, visitors can enjoy La Guardia, comedian Agustín Jiménez, a Veracruz mariachi concert, the El Escorial Urban Fest, an opera from Teatro Real, a drone show and dozens of activities for the whole family.
