Concert series ‘Jazz Círculo’

Jazz will return to the Círculo de Bellas Artes with a season that does not seek to confine the genre to a single form. Seven concerts will travel through sounds from Madrid, Galicia, Poland and Catalonia, taking in the Mediterranean, folk, tango and improvisation, with musicians from different generations and scenes.

The journey will begin with Lucía Rey Quartet, leading a project born between Madrid, Cuba and New York, and will continue with Albert Vila Organ Quartet feat. Perico Sambeat, where guitar, organ and saxophone meet in a repertoire with a distinctly contemporary character.

Álvaro Torres Trío will take the series into more unpredictable territory, between post-bop, free improvisation and references to Spanish folk music. The 2027 season will open a window onto Europe with Kuba Więcek, a Polish saxophonist who combines jazz, production and a creative freedom that is hard to fit into labels.

There will also be room for the trajectory of Sumrrá Trío, one of the most singular groups in Galician jazz, and for Alba Careta Group’s proposal, where trumpet and voice meet a generation of musicians who understand jazz from a fresh, open perspective.

The final chapter will bring together Federico Lechner Trío and Sheila Blanco in a dialogue between piano, voice, jazz and tango. The result will be a season built on encounters: between instruments, territories and different ways of understanding what jazz can be today.
