«International Jazz Day 2026» concert series

Madrid is preparing for a series of jazz evenings to mark International Jazz Day. From the end of April and during the first days of May, the city will become a route of nine venues, where music will move from one space to another without strict genre boundaries.

The series is organised by Madrid en Vivo and brings together clubs and small venues in the city, from Café Central and Café Berlín to Intruso Bar, Moe and El Sótano. Instead of a single stage, a network of venues operates here where jazz is heard in very diverse forms: from the most classic jazz to mixtures with flamenco, blues and contemporary urban styles.

One particular day in the programme will be key: it will then be that the city concentrates the most prominent performances of the series and the special projects, brought together around the idea of dialogue between genres and improvisation.

The festival is based on an international UNESCO initiative, created in 2011, and has been held in the city since 2018. During this time, it has become part of the city’s musical landscape, where jazz is not a niche genre but a living, dynamic language that connects different stages and audiences.
