About this event
From 19 to 23 May, Casa de América, in central Madrid, invites you to the Conexión Buenos Aires - Madrid festival, which connects the two capitals through tango, music, cinema and art. This year, at the festival’s third edition, free workshops, concerts, exhibitions and staged readings await you.
Tango takes centre stage: on 22 and 23 May there will be tango classes and milongas for all levels, as well as two concerts: “Tango con Humor” with Germana Ruby and “Tango y Folklore: Sueño al Sur” with Marcelo Balcells. The festival will also feature a meeting on the influence of Buenos Aires music in Spain and the exhibition Urbana BA III: Gente de mi ciudad 2000-2024, which will transport audiences to the streets of the Argentine capital.
The festival will also offer a lecture on the decorative technique Filete porteño, recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and an immersion in the culture of Argentine bife porteño.
