Andrés Barrios concert

Pianist and composer Andrés Barrios will perform on 29 July at Claustro del Instituto San Isidro as part of the Veranos de la Villa programme, where he will present Marea Viva, his new musical project. The concert offers a journey through contemporary flamenco in dialogue with jazz, roots music and other sounds from around the world.

In this work, Barrios explores new forms of expression without losing his link to flamenco tradition. The piano takes centre stage, accompanied by singing, percussion, double bass, wind instruments and even dance, in a staging that combines different artistic languages in one show.

Born in Utrera, Andrés Barrios has established himself as one of the leading figures of flamenco’s new generation. Throughout his career, he has performed at venues such as Teatro Real, Auditorio Nacional, Palau de la Música Catalana, Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla and the New York Flamenco Festival. His recognitions include the Premio Filón for Best Instrumentalist at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas and a 2025 Latin Grammy nomination for his album Km.0.
