Cineteca Madrid will screen “Suspiria”, Luca Guadagnino's disturbing reinterpretation of Dario Argento's horror classic. The film follows Susie Bannion, a young American woman who arrives in Berlin to study at a prestigious dance company, unaware that its classrooms conceal a history of disappearances, deaths and secrets.
As Susie settles into the school run by Madame Blanc, the disappearance of a student and the confessions of her fellow student Sarah arouse her suspicions. What seemed an opportunity to develop her talent begins to reveal a much darker reality.
Released in 2018 and starring Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton and Mia Goth, the film places dance at the heart of an unsettling atmosphere, where the body, power and obsession mingle with horror.
