Silent film «Metrópolis»

At Real Teatro de Retiro, Fritz Lang’s cult film Metrópolis will be screened in an unusual format, with a new musical score performed live. The German Expressionist silent classic will be accompanied by electronic music from pianist and composer Manuel Morales, created especially for this screening.

The contemporary sound accompanies every frame of the film, reinforcing the tense atmosphere of the city of the future, where technology dominates human beings.

After the 14 February screening, the audience will be invited to an open discussion about the film and its meaning, with film directors and researchers taking part.
