September premieres at Cineteca Madrid

During September, Cineteca Madrid will offer a wide variety of screenings that invite reflection on key issues such as historical memory and the role of women in cinema. Highlights include series such as “Cinema and Memory”, which examines historical events from unusual perspectives, together with the “Counter-histories” series, which highlights women's voices within contemporary cinema. One of the most eagerly awaited offerings is the “Flamenco and Cinema” retrospective, created by Pedro G. Romero, which explores the relationship between flamenco and the seventh art, offering a cultural vision that transcends music and intertwines with cinematic art.

The Cineteca will also host film and documentary premieres, as part of Madrid's commitment to supporting the emerging film industry. In addition, September brings a tribute to the Swiss filmmaker Leopold Lindtberg, whose work is characterised by its sensitive and humanist approach, recalling the turbulent times of the 20th century.

Throughout the month, workshops, colloquiums and public debates will also be held to complement the audiovisual offering.
