Experience «From Cajal’s brain to today’s neuroscience»

On 20 January, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo Conde Duque will host a screening of the short film Cajal Libremente, by directors Sergio Lara and José Luis Trejo. Following the screening, there will be a discussion featuring the authors and invited experts: Laura López-Mascaraque, Fernando de Castro and Soledad Delgado.

The film is inspired by the literary and creative facet of the work of scientist Santiago Ramón y Cajal, revealing his imagination and the balance between science and art. Director Sergio Lara is known as a master of short films and documentary cinema that explores human emotions, abandoned places and cultural traditions.

The discussion will include prominent Spanish scientists: José Luis Trejo, who studies the impact of lifestyle on the brain; Laura López-Mascaraque, who researches the development of neuronal cells; Fernando de Castro, an expert in multiple sclerosis; and Soledad Delgado, a specialist in neural networks and big-data processing.
