Wine Train

Madrid is getting ready to uncork an irresistible plan. On Thursday 21 August, the Wine Train will run again, a one-day getaway combining the charm of rail travel with exclusive tastings at three wineries in the region. The experience begins at 09:42 from Atocha, with a brief stop in Aranjuez, before continuing by bus to Colmenar de Oreja, the heart of Madrid wine country. During the morning, travellers will visit Bodega Jesús Díaz, where the aroma of barrels and old clay jars heralds the first tasting, and Bodega Peral, famous for its traditional cellar cave and its white wine aged on lees. In the afternoon, the meeting will be at Bodega Pedro García, which combines organic vineyards with historic facilities, ending the day with a pairing of local flavours.

The return to Madrid is scheduled for 19:02. Tickets, from 35 euros, include the train journey, transfers, guided visits and tastings. Places can be reserved until midnight on the preceding Sunday. The Wine Train will repeat the route on 11 September, 9 October and 13 November, becoming a regular date for those who want to discover and taste Madrid’s wine landscape.
