EuroBasket 2029 - European Men’s Basketball Championship

Madrid will host the most important part of the 2029 men’s EuroBasket. Spain’s national team will play here in the group stage and, later, all the knockout-stage matches, including the finals, will be played here. The tournament’s opening will take place at the «Santiago Bernabéu» stadium, while most matches will be played at the Movistar Arena in the summer of 2029; the dates will be specified later.

The city is scheduled to host 15 group-stage matches and the entire knockout stage, from the round of 16 to the final. The other first-stage groups will be hosted by Slovenia, Estonia and Greece.

The Movistar Arena will become the tournament’s main basketball centre. The arena has hosted major international events for many years. The opening match at the «Bernabéu» will bring together up to 80,000 spectators and could rank among the best-attended in FIBA history.

For Spain, this will be its ninth major international basketball tournament. Previously, the country has hosted European and world championships in men’s and women’s categories in different cities, including the final stages in Madrid.
