61st Trofeo Joan Gamper: FC Barcelona – Al Ahly
The Trofeo Joan Gamper returns home. On 19 August, Spotify Camp Nou will reopen its doors to host the 61st edition of the tournament and FC Barcelona’s first home match of the 2026/27 season. The occasion will also officially present the squad to the blaugrana supporters.
About this event
The opponent will be Al Ahly SC, a historic guest for the Gamper. The Cairo side will become the first Egyptian club and the first African team to take part in the tournament. Founded in 1907, Al Ahly is the most decorated institution in African football and one of the most successful in the world, with a history full of domestic and international titles.
Beyond the result, the Gamper represents the starting point of a new season every summer. It is the moment when fans meet the team again, discover the new signings and begin to sense what the coming campaign will be like.
The return of the tournament to Spotify Camp Nou adds special significance to this edition, which combines tradition, a premiere and an opponent of international prestige on a night set to mark the start of a new stage for Barça.
