Barcelona recovers an almost forgotten image: classic cars starting their engines in front of the cathedral to begin one of the most emblematic adventures in European motorsport. The start of the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique returns to the city a ritual that blends elegance, memory and competition, and which had not been experienced for six years.
About this event
On Sunday 1 February, Avenida de la Catedral will become a meeting point for history and mechanical passion. A total of 28 teams will set off from there towards Monte Carlo, in a test where the winner is not the one who drives fastest, but the one who best masters time, precision and consistency.
The convoy brings together drivers from different countries —Spain, France, Argentina, Andorra, Austria, Belgium and Italy— and offers the chance to see genuine collector's pieces in action. Among the notable names is the duo of Luis Climent and Carles Jiménez, runners-up in the 2025 edition, who return to the Barcelona start in their 1981 BMW 323i.
The grid is a rolling tribute to classic design: Porsche leads with a notable presence of 911 models, accompanied by vehicles from brands such as Autobianchi and Volkswagen. More than a race, the start of the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique is a celebration of the automobile as cultural heritage, open to anyone who wishes to glimpse, for a few hours, another era.
