Official presentation of the 2026 Tour de France teams
Before the competition begins, Barcelona will experience one of the most eagerly awaited moments of Grand Départ 2026: the official presentation of the Tour de France teams. On 2 July, two days before the race begins, the city will welcome the protagonists of the French tour in a public event combining sport, spectacle and heritage.
About this event
The ceremony will begin at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, from where the 23 participating teams will set off along Avinguda de Gaudí. Cyclists, directors and team members will parade before thousands of fans on a route linking two of Barcelona’s most emblematic spaces and turning the streets into a great celebration of international cycling.
The event will culminate in front of the Sagrada Familia, the setting for the official gala. There, the teams will be introduced individually, interviews will be held with some of the big names in the peloton, and various performances will accompany a day designed to bring the Tour closer to the public.
More than a protocol ceremony, the official presentation represents the true start of the celebration. It is the moment when fans can see the competition’s stars up close, discover each team’s colours and feel the excitement that precedes one of the world’s most important sporting events. An encounter between the city and cycling that marks the beginning of a historic edition of the Tour de France.
