Casa Batlló Christmas Lights
Every winter, the undulating façade of Casa Batlló is once again transformed into a living canvas, but this year it does so with a purpose that illuminates beyond the aesthetic: to support and make neurodivergent people visible. From 22 November to 6 January, Gaudí's modernist jewel dresses in light, colour and music in a free show that has become one of Barcelona's most eagerly awaited Christmas rituals.
About this event
The opening will take place on 22 November at 19:00, coinciding with the city's Christmas lights being switched on. From that moment, every half hour until 21:30, the façade will come alive for three minutes. From the following day, the performances move forward to 18:30, keeping the same rhythm until Epiphany.
This year, the Christmas lighting reinforces the House's social commitment: its visitor services team includes neurodivergent people, especially people with autism spectrum disorder, in a pioneering employment inclusion project. The Christmas campaign will also be accompanied by donations to Fundación Adana and Associació Aprenem Autisme.
And for those wishing to extend the experience, “A Winter Night” returns, the night-time visit which, in its three previous editions, has brought together more than 200,000 people. New projections, new spaces and a renewed narrative make it possible to walk through the house as if its former inhabitants still whispered stories among lights and shadows.
A proposal that unites art, emotion and social commitment, and confirms that, in Barcelona, Christmas can also be an act of sensitivity.
