Italo disco festival «Fotonovela»
Barcelona adds a new date to its nightlife calendar with the birth of Fotonovela, a festival dedicated to italo disco that looks to the past with a fully contemporary attitude. The first edition takes place on Sunday 1 February at Upload Barcelona, in the heart of Poble Espanyol, a space which for one afternoon will become a dance floor, sound refuge and time capsule.

Driven by Diumenge de Guàrdia together with the Upload venue, Fotonovela champions a sound that never entirely went away and today shines brightly again. The night’s main event will be the return of Jordi Cubino under his legendary alter ego David Lyme, three decades after his retirement. The author of anthems such as Let’s Go to Sitges and Bambina returns to the stage in an appearance as unexpected as it is celebrated.
The line-up confirms the festival’s international character with the presence of Rhumba Club, arriving from London, and is completed by Josep Xortó + The Congosound and Barcelona 82, showing that italo disco also beats strongly from Catalunya. On the decks, two key names: Miki Puig and Telexketch, responsible for bringing to a close a day designed to rule the dance floor, shoulder pads included.
