FOK, Fiesta del Orgullo del Karmel

From 7 to 15 November, the Carmel neighbourhood once again lights its most colourful flame with the seventh edition of FOK — Fiesta Orgullo Karmel — an event overflowing with creativity, humour and commitment. It is not only a celebration: it is a declaration of love for diversity and a reminder that pride can also have a neighbourhood accent.

Driven by Espai Jove Boca Nord, Centre Cívic del Carmel and Biblioteca El Carmel–Juan Marsé, FOK weaves art, activism and neighbourhood life into a programme mixing the festive with the political, the everyday with the poetic. The result is a week where every corner of Carmel breathes visibility, rebellion and community.

The central event, on 8 November, begins with FOK Canalla, a family show playing with magic and tenderness, followed by a speech by Estefania Vidal and the «Les Drag treuen FOK al Carmel» show, where local residents discover their drag alter egos guided by Aquarella. The day culminates in the mixed rhythms of Señorita Julia y sus Exs and the fire of Diables del Carmel, who will paint the sky in rainbow colours.

Throughout the week, FOK offers cinema, exhibitions, workshops and concerts that open conversations and tear down labels. Exhibitions such as Fràgil, Colors amb sentiments and Carcasa turn art into resistance and the neighbourhood into a space for reflection, memory and desire.
