2025 Gegants del Pi Quinquenales
The Gegants del Pi Quinquenales return in 2025 to fill the streets of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter with tradition and memory. These celebrations, held every five years, commemorate the recovery in 1960 of the four historic Pi giants after almost a century of silence. A living heritage that once again takes centre stage with a varied programme designed for all audiences.
About this event
The programme will begin on 7 June with the opening of the Centenary and Historic Giants exhibition at the Palau de la Virreina, accompanied by institutional addresses and a jazz concert given by the Taller de Músics del Raval, which will add a contemporary note to the start of the festivities.
As a major new feature of this edition, the Marxa dels Gegants del Pi will be held on 13 June, a night-time street parade driven by the youngest giant carriers. This new initiative seeks to bring the magic of the giants closer to new generations and encourage younger audiences to experience the festival from within.
Between exhibitions, talks and street parades, the 2025 Quinquenales reaffirm the value of a tradition that continues to beat at the heart of the city.
