Sixth Dones de Foc festival
This 15 March, Barceloneta becomes the setting for a unique and fiery event: the Sexta Fiesta Dones de Foc. In the emblematic plaça del Mar, popular-culture groups will gather to commemorate International Women’s Day, while also celebrating the 25th anniversary of Diables Tarascaires.
About this event
From midday until late at night, attendees will be able to enjoy a day full of activities, all with free admission. The event will begin at 14:00 with a vermouth accompanied by a “devilish” food competition, where spicy flavours will take centre stage. Then, at 16:00, the atmosphere will liven up with musical bingo, followed by family workshops from 17:00, including everything from an introduction to becoming a devil to personalising scarves.
The highlight will come in the afternoon with the raffle for the diablessa costume at 19:15 and a children’s static correfoc at 19:30. At 20:00, the square will resound with the reading of feminist versots, followed by the impressive Diablesses correfoc at 20:15, where fire and tradition will come together in a vibrant, assertive dance.
The night will close with the Cremada unitaria at 21:00, a symbolic act of equality, and continue with a folk dance. At 21:15, everyone is invited to take part in the dance workshop to the sound of Cobla la Mitja Lluna.
