Miró’s 50th Anniversary Day: The Party Is Just Beginning
On 15 June, Fundación Joan Miró celebrates half a century of art, creativity and cultural commitment with ‘The Party Is Just Beginning’, the major opening day of its 50th anniversary. Throughout the day, the doors of the Miró will remain open to welcome visitors of all ages in a festive atmosphere, full of activities designed to pay tribute to its legacy and project it into the future.

The programme begins early in the morning with artistic workshops such as ‘La fotografia constel·lada y Miró⁵⁰’, and continues with family activities such as the storytelling session ‘Els arbres em parlen’ and the visual-arts workshop ‘Davant la lluna, davant el sol’. For the more creative, there will be drawing spaces such as ‘Postals des de la Miró’ and a large collective mural in ‘Una línia que allarga la mà’.
The day will also include the screening of the documentary ‘Traçat per la Llum. Sert/Miró’, the presentation of the new edition of the Lluerna project and performances such as ‘Reencarnacions I: Volar’. Yerai Cortés will provide the musical finale as part of the ‘Miró x Sónar’ cycle.
A day to reconnect with the living history of the Foundation, celebrate its journey and open a whole year of commemorations. Miró’s poetry is still alive. And, as the title announces, the party is only just beginning.
