On 18 April, the MTB Eliminator World Cup turns Barcelona into a circuit where speed is measured in seconds and errors have no margin. This cross-country discipline offers short, explosive races in four-rider elimination heats, on an urban course full of obstacles and changes of pace.
About this event
The spectacle is built on intensity. At every start, cyclists compete wheel to wheel while the public follows the action a few metres away. Only the first two progress to the next round, forcing quick decisions on a course that permits no relaxation. Thus, heat after heat, the event reaches a final where everything is decided in a few minutes.
The day begins with training and time trials, which determine starting positions, and moves through the eliminations to culminate in the women’s and men’s finals. The prize-giving closes a day that concentrates all the excitement in a direct and accessible format.
