9th Barcelona on the Move Against Cancer
The 9th Barcelona on the Move Against Cancer returns on Sunday 14 December with a day that combines sport, solidarity and shared remembrance. The start will take place at Parc del Fòrum, from plaça dels Auditoris, where thousands of participants will gather to turn their steps into direct support for those living with the illness.
About this event
The race, organised by the Asociación Contra el Cáncer in Barcelona, offers three routes —10 km, 5 km and 2.5 km— as well as a children’s race designed so that the whole family can take on the challenge. Each participant runs beneath a question that becomes a statement: «And you, who are you running for?». The race bib allows them to write the name of the person to whom the effort is dedicated, a simple gesture that turns every kilometre into a tribute.
While adults make their way towards the finish line, the youngest participants will find a space of their own with workshops and activities, designed so that they too can be part of this collective movement.
More than a competition, the event has become established as a moment of community: a day on which Barcelona comes together to remember, support one another and assert the importance of research and care for people affected by cancer.
