Castell-Platja d’Aro Medieval Market
For one weekend, Castell d’Aro will be transformed into an authentic medieval setting with its traditional Medieval Market, a journey through time where the bustle of trades, music and spectacle fills the streets of the old quarter.
About this event
The market, open from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00, will feature craftspeople in period costume demonstrating carpentry, candle-making, beekeeping, ceramics and medieval painting techniques live. Visitors can explore the crafts and food fair, sample local cuisine in the catering areas, or take part in workshops such as beeswax candle-making or medieval silhouettes.
Entertainment will be constant: parades with medieval music, belly dancing, roaming theatre, juggling, fire shows and even a medieval camp with an exhibition of weapons and armour. Younger visitors will have their own space with games, mini war machines and family activities.
Among the most anticipated attractions, performances by Els Berros de la Cort and the visual energy of Gisela de Foc will light up squares and streets, while companies such as Caravana de les Arts and Improvisto’s Krusty Show will add a festive and surprising touch.
