Exhibition «Los trenes del centenario. El patrimonio ferroviario del metro de Barcelona»

Under a 1,200 m² tent, the public will be able to view — and walk through on raised walkways — the carriages of the iconic 100, 300, 400, 1100 and 3000 series, restored especially to celebrate one hundred years of the metro. Each series embodies a different stage: from the first 1924 trainsets, with their almost handcrafted design, to models that ran until only a few years ago and which many citizens still remember as part of their daily lives.

The exhibition is not limited to showing old vehicles; it offers an intimate reading of the city’s progress. What for some were routine journeys is now revealed as technical, social and cultural heritage: changing materials, transforming seats, signage that speaks of other times and a way of travelling that is already part of the collective imagination.

Admission is free, and those wishing to take home a piece of this history will be able to buy commemorative centenary products. A unique opportunity to understand how Barcelona moved, modernised and recognised itself through its trains.
