«La Sagrada Familia y Barcelona, 144 años de camino compartido» does not merely tell the story of a building, but follows the pulse of a relationship that has grown alongside the city. Through photographs — some recovered for the first time — the exhibition reconstructs a continuous dialogue between the work and its surroundings.
About this event
On this journey, the Sagrada Familia appears as more than an icon: it is an organism in transformation that has accompanied Barcelona through its changes, tensions and moments of collective momentum. As the city expanded, reinvented itself or questioned itself, the temple advanced at its own pace, accumulating layers of time.
The images propose a cross-reading: every advance in construction finds its echo in the urban life around it. Thus, the basilica ceases to be an isolated presence and becomes a mirror — sometimes silent, sometimes imposing — of the city itself.
With free admission at Palau Robert, the exhibition invites visitors to look beyond the work itself and attend to everything that has accompanied it over time: the stories, changes and lives that have grown up around it.
