«La maldat benvinguda» Installation

With his installation «La maldat benvinguda», artist Francesc Torres introduces the viewer to his vision of the meaning of war. The installation presents a question which uses artistic resources to explore how fragile wartime situations prove to be, always surrounded by tensions inherent to conflict.

At the centre of the installation is an egg whose fragility becomes more than evident as it is held in the void between a war ambulance and a concrete wall. At the same time, it shares the spotlight with a photograph reflecting a situation in which life prevails and struggles to gain ground amid hostility and decay. Both situations are profoundly separated by a symbolic circumstance, but they work to show the delicate balance that exists in what maintains peace before war breaks out.

Without a doubt, this is a more than recommended installation, worthy of admiration for art lovers and those interested in broadening their vision of artistic symbolism. It is fair to say that it achieves its main aim of making the public enter into what war represents, with its meaninglessness and its implications for life.
