Exhibition «Contrapunto. Sergi Aguilar»

Since the 1970s, Aguilar has cultivated a photographic practice parallel to his sculptural work, not as an archive, but as an autonomous field of research. In Contrapunto, for the first time, this dimension is revealed in all its depth: an exhaustive selection of images that interrogate landscape, architecture and emptiness as if they were raw material.

The exhibition invites viewers to see as one sees in a workshop: without ornament, without hierarchies, in a working state. The museographic arrangement avoids traditional order in order to question how and from where we look. Here, frames are cuts, forms are a form of thought, and each image is a tension between the visible and the absent.

Several audiovisual projects complete the exhibition, intensifying this experience of open perception, closer to the editing booth than to the museum's white room. In Contrapunto, Aguilar takes apart the gaze in order to put it back together from another place. More attentive, slower, more one's own.
