Exhibition «Basel Abbas i Ruanne Abou-Rahme. Presoners de l’amor. Fins al sol de la llibertat»

The exhibition centres on a large audiovisual installation that gives the exhibition its name and arises from research focused on the experiences of former Palestinian prisoners. Through songs, poems and testimonies, the work reflects on resistance, survival and the ability to preserve memory in the face of loss and displacement.

Far from a linear narrative, the artists construct their projects through fragments, repetitions and overlays that connect past and present, reality and imagination. Their pieces invite the viewer to move through spaces where stories remain open, questioning the ways in which we remember, forget and understand the world we inhabit.

Alongside the main installation, the exhibition brings together works made over almost two decades of collaboration, revealing a trajectory marked by reflection on violence, the deprivation of rights and the multiple forms of resistance. A journey that combines poetic sensitivity and political commitment to address issues that transcend borders and specific contexts.
