‘Animales a Bordo’ exhibition

‘Animales a Bordo’ is an exhibition at Museu Marítim de Barcelona that explores the coexistence of animals and humans on maritime journeys throughout the centuries. It reveals how, from farm animals to pets and pests, they have shared spaces on vessels, playing essential roles in survival and work or, in some cases, causing challenges on board.

This exhibition grew out of discussions with retired captains and is enriched by photographs from collections and contributions from social media, presenting an intimate view of shared life at sea. It also includes interactive elements such as a photocall and games, inviting a deeper experience.
