Family workshop «A la recerca de l'eclipsi»
The family workshop A la recerca de l'eclipsi invites participants to discover one of the most fascinating astronomical phenomena through experimentation. Designed for families with children aged 8 and over, the activity combines learning and practice to understand, in a simple way, how eclipses occur.
About this event
With the help of a Sun-Earth-Moon system model, participants will be able to visualise the movements that make this phenomenon possible and understand why it is visible only from certain areas of the planet. In addition, using the Stellarium programme, they will learn to locate the Sun in the sky and identify the exact moment when the Moon crosses its path.
One of the workshop’s most interesting moments will be the construction of a homemade solar projector. Each family will be able to take this device home to observe the Sun completely safely, without looking directly at the star and avoiding any risk to their eyesight.
The experience is completed by the Píndoles sobre el Sol, small informative sessions that will take place in the museum’s Sala Univers and will allow participants to explore in greater depth the three solar eclipses that can be observed between 2026 and 2028. A proposal to learn, experiment and prepare to contemplate the sky with new eyes.
