Workshop ‘We Prepare an Egyptian Mummy’
How was a mummy prepared in ancient Egypt? This workshop invites younger children to discover one of this civilisation's most fascinating rituals through a hands-on activity full of curiosities.
About this event
During the session, participants will become genuine apprentice archaeologists as they collaborate in the symbolic preparation of a mummy and tour the museum rooms to find the objects which, according to Egyptian beliefs, had to accompany it on its journey to the afterlife. The activity combines play, exploration and learning to bring history closer in a dynamic, participatory way.
Designed exclusively for boys and girls aged 6 to 12, the workshop will take place in Catalan on Monday 31 August, from 10:00 to 13:30. A minimum of 8 participants is required for the activity to take place.
In addition, attendees may bring a small breakfast to enjoy during a morning break. A proposal to spark the imagination, learn about the customs of ancient Egypt at close hand and experience an adventure among pharaohs, hieroglyphics and ancient mysteries.
