Plaça Joanic Family Space
During Festa Major de Gràcia 2026, Plaça Joanic takes on a different role: becoming a place where children, teenagers and families have their own rhythm within the festival. The proposal ranges from activities for babies to a night-time programme designed for younger people.
About this event
During the day there will be intercultural storytelling, puppets, clowning, music, theatre workshops and crafts, sensory shows and popular-culture activities. From 18 to 20 August, the square will also include a free-play area with traditional wooden games and a small temporary library with rugs, cushions and books for ages 0 to 14.
As evening falls, Joanic will change gear. Between 19:30 and 22:00, families will be able to dine outdoors with a simple and healthy offering. Then it will be the teenagers' turn, with an alcohol-free leisure space, open-air cinema, musical quintos and a competition that will bring five emerging youth bands onto the stage.
The initiative was born as a pilot project, but with a clear intention: to demonstrate that a crowded festa major can also reserve places to play, read, meet and enjoy oneself without having to follow the adults' programme.
