Family workshop “Los vecinos de La Pedrera” at La Pedrera

Armed with a booklet inspired by documents from the period, families must decipher clues, observe architectural details and explore La Pedrera’s most emblematic spaces: the main floor, the attics with their catenary arches, the roof populated by sculptural chimneys and the courtyards that still preserve echoes of another time. Each clue helps reconstruct how domestic life was organised, which customs shaped everyday life, or how modernity and tradition coexisted within the building.

The game not only reveals the history of its former inhabitants; it also helps explain why Gaudí conceived Casa Milà as a functional, light-filled and surprisingly practical organism for its time. Through questions, small challenges and shared discoveries, families enter modernist sociability and the way architecture shaped—and enriched—the lives of those who lived there.

“Los vecinos de La Pedrera” is, in short, a playful exploration of the past that turns the visit into an active experience: an opportunity for adults and children alike to enter the building’s intimate life and discover that, behind its undulating façade, the stories of those who called it home still beat.
