Series “Christmas for the Little Cinephile. The Great Christmas of the Animals”

From Santa Claus’s funny move, which turns his routine upside down in a story full of wit, to the first Christmas of a little hen who discovers the world with amazed eyes, each story offers a poetic view of the spirit of these festivities. The programme continues with the last Christmas tree, an ecological fable as delicate as it is luminous; travels to Japan with Tanuki, guardian of an unexpected surprise; and culminates in the great animal party, an explosion of music, celebration and solidarity under the winter mantle.

Coming from France, Germany and Japan, these short films combine contemporary animation techniques with narratives that awaken the sensitivity of the youngest children, recommended from age 3.

Before each session, CaixaForum’s education team offers a brief introduction to help child — and adult — audiences interpret the stories, and proposes a short discussion at the end. In addition, an educational sheet with activities can be downloaded to continue exploring the magic of these tales at home.
