Una bufetada a temps starts from a gesture as everyday as it is controversial to open a debate that crosses generations. Where are the limits in upbringing? What happens when a form of correction that once seemed normal is no longer accepted? From a family argument, the play turns these questions into the engine of a comedy that is as uncomfortable as it is close to home.

Everything begins when a grandfather slaps his eight-year-old grandson after a tantrum. The school's reaction, which considers reporting what happened, triggers a confrontation in which every character defends their way of understanding childhood, authority and the responsibility of upbringing.
Far from offering easy answers, the work written and directed by Marta Buchaca uses humour and irony to show how different ways of thinking coexist within the same family. Each conversation reveals the clash between values, experiences and educational models that continue to generate controversy.
With a cast led by Ramon Madaula and Montse Guallar, this production in Catalan offers, over 75 minutes, an entertaining, current reflection on decisions that shape children's growth and the role played by those who accompany them on that path.
