«Travesty» is the new show by Sasha Velour, one of the most influential figures in contemporary drag, which will come to Europe between 2 May and 12 June 2026 after its world premiere in Washington D. C.

Conceived, written and directed by Sasha Velour herself, this solo show continues the artistic line she began with «Smoke & Mirrors» and «The Big Reveal», taking her stage language even further.
The work traces the secret and dissident history of one place over time: a field where a witch burns, a theatre built by a clown, a clandestine gay bar that confronts the police. From these scenes, «Velour» embodies multiple characters through striking lip-syncs, constructing a narrative that crosses queer memory, performance and sharp humour.
Travesty is not limited to the show: it is an experience combining art, history and political gesture. Among lights, music and constant transformations, drag appears as ritual, resistance and collective celebration. The result is an intense and vibrant piece that challenges the audience, inviting them to move, shout and think, reminding them that the stage can also be a space for imagining other possible worlds.
