Ragazzo is a theatrical monologue that brings back to the present one of the open wounds of contemporary Europe: the death of Carlo Giuliani during the G8 summit in Genoa in the summer of 2001. From this historical context, the piece reconstructs the everyday life of a young man who, amid an unprecedented state of emergency, tries to keep living.

While the city fills with checkpoints, bans and police, Ragazzo listens to music, reads, cooks, falls in love and takes part in the Foro Social Mundial, where thousands of people imagine alternatives to globalisation. The play moves between the intimate and the political, showing how an apparently small decision — to remain in a peaceful act of civil disobedience — can change everything.
Directed and written by Lali Álvarez Garriga and performed by Pau Bondiez, Ragazzo offers a direct, unembellished perspective that appeals to collective memory and uncomfortable questions about violence, protest and individual responsibility. An intense and necessary story that invites us to pause and listen to what still echoes beneath the noise of history.
