‘Pinocchio, or the spectacle of fatherhood’ revisits the famous tale of Pinocchio through an intimate, contemporary lens. The story begins with the solitary gesture of Geppetto, a poor carpenter who, seeking company, decides to build a wooden boy who — as he imagines — ‘knows above all how to dance’.

But the creation soon takes on a life of its own. Pinocchio’s curiosity to explore the world, make mistakes and learn turns the puppet’s journey into more than a children’s adventure. As the boy discovers what it means to be a son, Geppetto faces an unexpected lesson: becoming a father.
The staging places this story in an old abandoned parish cinema, a place where the ghosts of old films still seem to linger. Amid imagined screenings and the musical atmosphere of Isao Tomita, the show unfolds a delicate relationship between the two characters.
In that space suspended between memory and fiction, Pinocchio learns to walk while Geppetto learns to dance. And in that exchange a silent question arises: what does it mean today to educate, accompany and grow together in a world full of projections.
