The story begins on a Christmas night in present-day Barcelona. Two siblings encounter a couple of immigrants seeking shelter from the cold and end up taking refuge in a metro station. There, a street musician appears who, on hearing the conversation, decides to share an ancestral tale: the adventure of Toia and Cigronet, two shepherds with good hearts and mischievous spirits who, more than two thousand years ago, found themselves involved in an unexpected mission.

In this version, evil does not hide behind solemn shadows, but behind riffs and leather: the Gran Tronera Major, leader of an outlandish hell, plans an invasion and sends a retinue of rock demons to finish off the heroes. Toia and Cigronet will respond with cunning, humour and a natural tendency to get into trouble. The angel Sant Miquel will come to their rescue, armed with heavenly light and pop melodies that make the loudspeakers of the afterlife tremble.

With a running time of 80 minutes and recommended for ages 5 and over, the play fuses theatre, music and physical comedy to transform a familiar tale into a stage celebration that speaks of solidarity, resistance and second chances, without losing the mischievous spirit that has always defined the Pastorets.

«Pastorets Superestel» does not intend to replace tradition; it proposes dancing it. And it does so with the complicity of the audience, who leave the theatre humming and with the feeling of having seen an old tale told in a new language.
