“Nosaltres, mortals” Show
What happens when prison ceases to be a place and becomes a mark that accompanies an entire life? Nosaltres, mortals begins with that question to construct a piece of documentary theatre focused on a barely visible reality: women’s experience within Spain’s prison system and consequences that endure long after freedom is regained.
About this event
The work intertwines real testimonies, fiction, images and historical documents to establish a dialogue between the present and the origins of women’s prisons in the 18th century. The result does not seek merely to reconstruct a past, but to reveal how certain mechanisms of exclusion, stigma and inequality remain present today.
Under the direction and dramaturgy of Sara Sors, the production creates an austere space where silence, distance and absence acquire dramatic weight as important as words. On stage, Mónica Gómez, Marta Margarit, Tania López and Anna Roy shape a collective account that challenges the viewer without offering easy answers.
Performed in Catalan and Spanish, Nosaltres, mortals offers a profound reflection on justice, memory and the invisible price of a sentence, inviting audiences to look beyond prison walls.
