Opera «Madama Butterfly»

On 9 April, at Casino Aliança de Poblenou, spectators will be able to enjoy a new staging of Giacomo Puccini's famous opera, «Madama Butterfly». NovAria, a Catalan company that has spent more than ten years bringing the classical repertoire closer to audiences, opens a new chapter by backing talented young musicians from the region.

The musical direction has been entrusted to Jofre Bardolet, aged only 26, who offers real opportunities for young artists to develop without leaving Catalonia. More than 70 performers come together on stage: soloists, choir and ballet, performing in perfect synchrony with the orchestra and creating the sensation of a living, pulsating organism.

The staging combines the drama of the music with visual richness: authentic Japanese costumes and Josep Abril's set design immerse the spectator in a world of passion, betrayal and verismo harmony. The story of love and tragedy unfolds through every movement, every sound and every note, making this classic both close and deeply moving.
