“Los nuestros” show
Los nuestros enters an intimate territory: the family as a fragile construction, inherited and sometimes sustained by silences. Dinorah's death brings “her own people” together in Madrid to observe Avelut, the Jewish mourning period that requires them to live together for seven days and halt the rhythm of the outside world. That forced pause becomes an emotional laboratory in which every gesture reveals old tensions and questions that can no longer be postponed.
About this event
The characters, dragged from scattered and fast-paced lives, are forced to share a space they no longer recognise as their own. The past that bound them together appears frayed, and what remains is a mixture of distrust, tenderness and fear: fear of what is to come, of deciding whether to have children or give it up, of breaking with one's own people in order to move forward, of recovering the ability to feel hopeful when the future seems uncertain.
The play turns the house of mourning into a mirror: where the ritual sets the pace, the family must learn again what it means to belong, and whether that belonging is a choice, a burden or a refuge. In Los nuestros, intimacy unfolds without fanfare, showing how even in fracture a different way of being together can be born.
