From 13 December, the dramedy “Los guapos” is presented, written and directed by filmmaker David Trueba, who makes his theatrical debut with this show. The story presented tells the life of Nuria and Pablo, both of whom grew up in the same deprived neighbourhood.
“Los guapos”, David Trueba’s theatrical debut, tells a moving story about friendship and the decisions that shape our lives. Nuria and Pablo, two childhood friends who grew up in a deprived neighbourhood, have taken very different paths. While Pablo has become a successful lawyer, Nuria feels trapped in a cycle of stagnation and lack of opportunities.
The two meet again after years apart when Nuria seeks Pablo’s help to resolve a legal matter. This rapprochement not only rekindles old memories, but also forces them to confront their own choices and the lives they have led. As their dialogues unfold, themes such as identity, the past and social expectations are explored. With the brilliant performances of Anna Alarcón and Vito Sanz, “Los guapos” offers a blend of comedy and drama that invites reflection on the meaning of true friendship and the impact of one’s surroundings on our lives.
