Based on the novel by Laetitia Colombani, the play tells the journey of Smita, a Dalit woman in India who rebels against the weight of the castes to offer her daughter a different future; Giulia, a young Sicilian woman who inherits a family workshop on the verge of ruin and must reinvent her own path; and Sarah, a Canadian lawyer who, at the height of her professional success, faces a diagnosis that changes everything.
Three destinies that, without knowing one another, share the same struggle: to be free, not to give up, to keep braiding life even when everything seems to break.
With an intimate and powerful staging, La Trena intertwines words, emotion and symbolism to pay tribute to the resistance of women all over the world. It is a work about dignity, hope and the invisible strength that unites those who, though they bend, never break.
