«La nit del 4 al 5» is a stage work by the Cia CuldeSac company inspired by a text by Rachel Graton. The work places the audience on a winter night: 4 January, at 22.40. A young woman walks alone. From that moment on, something happens and the story fractures.
About this event
Five performers reconstruct that account from different angles, as if trying to piece together a broken mirror. They do not dwell only on the sexual assault that sets the plot in motion, but on everything that follows: the silence that takes hold, other people’s suspicion, words that do not come or that arrive wrongly.
The piece travels through the uncomfortable territory of memory and imperfect justice. Doctors without empathy, hurried police officers and voices that minimise what happened appear. Meanwhile, the protagonist is trapped in a narrative she did not choose and which, nevertheless, she must tell again and again.
In that space suspended between the wall, the ice and the sky, the work poses an essential question: how does one inhabit one’s own body and one’s own life again after violence? Performed by Carla Ruiz de la Fuente Ballester, Maria Pocorull Ferrer, Clàudia Costa Jiménez, Alba Josa Levratto, Edna Rodríguez Rizzo and Alba Sala Quiroga, the piece is presented in Catalan and lasts 65 minutes.
