“Els contrabandistes de llibres de Darayya” show

The story is inspired by the discovery made by journalist Delphine Minoui in 2015, when she came across the image of a clandestine library in Darayya on the Humans of Syria Facebook page. This place, created by a group of young rebels, became a symbol of defiance and hope, bringing together books rescued from the rubble of bombings to preserve knowledge and free expression.

The work explores how, despite violence and oppression, the human spirit can find ways to survive and resist through the power of words and books. “Els contrabandistes de llibres de Darayya” is not only a testimony to the struggle against censorship and regime repression, but also a celebration of the tenacity and creativity of those who dare to dream of a better world, even in the darkest circumstances.

This show, staged in an intimate theatre setting, invites spectators to reflect on the importance of culture and education as pillars of freedom and resistance in times of conflict.
