This theatrical production recaptures the essence of this cult novel: romantic, dissident and deeply satirical, where social criticism coexists with tragedy and mysticism.
About this event
The action takes us to Moscow in the 1930s. The devil and his retinue burst into the city, sowing chaos and revealing the contradictions of an oppressive regime. In parallel, we witness the story of Margarita, who loves the Master, a writer condemned to silence and persecution. Their passion becomes an act of resistance against repression.
But the story is not limited to the Soviet present: nineteen centuries earlier, Pontius Pilate, the apostle Matthew and Caiaphas debate the existence and death of Jesus Christ, in an echo that connects the past with humanity’s eternal dilemmas.
«El mestre i Margarita» is at once political satire, philosophical reflection and a story of impossible love. A work that challenges the limits of theatre and invites the audience to be carried away by irony, emotion and enigma.
